Who we are
Our annual boys’ trip to raft the Lochsa river with Mammoth River Adventures took an unexpected turn. The “insane” guy (thank you Jesse!) who rode down Class IV and Class V rapids right next to our large rafts on a souped up boogie board pulled each of us off our rafts one by one… and gave us a shot. My first rapid was Termination, a Class IV rollercoaster. WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?
This first experience truly highlights what’s so incredibly special about Riverboarding, accessibility of next level river adrenaline, yet such low barriers to get in the water face first into the rapids.
Well after another 5 years or so of returning, now obsessive riverboarders, we’d sit around the fire after a day on the river asking why this sport hadn’t taken off? Why isn’t this everywhere? When we each tried to buy our own riverboard so we could hit local rivers more frequently than our annual trip, we found out. There’s just not riverboards available domestically, and shipping these around makes it cost prohibitive for the few manufacturers in the world to do so. Those that become available are gone in seconds with large groups left begging to be next if something falls through.
Mammoth Riverboards wants to fix that, let’s go!
